Pastor’s Blog 2.13.19

Psalm 37:3-8
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. 4 Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. 6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday. 7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. 8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret — it only causes harm. NKJV

So many people in church culture today have trust issues, why? I believe it boils down to the fact we put people in an unrealistic position. I have come to this conclusion: I don’t put that much trust in people, but, instead put all my trust in the Lord. He alone is wise, perfect, and completely trustworthy. My expectations for people in no way match my expectations for God. They shouldn’t.

I guess you could say I have a lot of hope in people but my faith is in God.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. NKJV

Isaiah 30:1-3
30:1 Futile Confidence in Egypt or (people of the world) “Woe to the rebellious children,” says the LORD, “Who take counsel, but not of Me, And who devise plans, but not of My Spirit, That they may add sin to sin; 2 Who walk to go down to Egypt, And have not asked My advice, To strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, And to trust in the shadow of Egypt! 3 Therefore the strength of Pharaoh Shall be your shame, And trust in the shadow of Egypt Shall be your humiliation. NKJV

I can’t find all the verses that tell us to trust in people can you? But the scripture is full of direction to put our trust in God.

I was talking to someone a while back and they had just suffered a serious betrayal from a lifetime relationship. He was relaying his side of the story and said “if you don’t want to be my friend anymore I understand, this goes against everything I have believed and taught”.

I responded, “One thing I have learned is you don’t have to do anything wrong to be betrayed. Just ask Jesus, He has been betrayed by us all to one degree or another, and He has never sinned.”

I was talking to Prophet Kevin last night and these words popped out of my mouth, “shame never takes the blame”. A victim will never take responsibility for their own failures, they have to blame someone else. They may wallow in some self-pity but seldom take responsibility for their own actions.

Years ago I decided to own my failures. I won’t take the blame for another’s actions, but I will for my own. I am delivered from shame and own my mistakes. That is a healthy soul’s perspective. If you ask me, self-righteousness is the foundation of the shame deception. I make my boast in the Lord. I had two people text me last week and told me I was a “great man”, “No I am not, but I know a great God”, was my response. I giggle at the thought of my own righteousness.

Bottom line, rejoice in all the good we see people do, but don’t put your faith in man, put your faith in God!

This weekend we are going have a great time in the presence of God with Prophet Kevin, I know we will be challenged and grow! I encourage you to make the extra meeting Tuesday and Wednesday nights and soak and get your batteries charged!

1 Timothy 4:9-16 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance. 10 For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. 11 These things command and teach. 12 Take Heed to Your Ministry Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 13 Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. 14 Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. 15 Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all. 16 Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you. NKJV

Pastor’s Blog 1.23.19

Matthew 6:22-24
22 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness! 24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. NKJV

How can light be darkness? As a young student of the Bible, this passage of scripture perplexed me for many years. “If therefore the light that be in you is darkness…” But as I studied and searched, more and more it became obvious. There are two kids of light. Light gives ability to see and without light there is no sight. Just as natural light in a room gives you the ability to see what is in that room, there is a spiritual light that gives us the ability to see what is in the spirit realm.

John 1:1-5
1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. NKJV

The Lord told Adam and Eve the day they ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil they would die. However the day they ate they didn’t die in the natural, did they? So what happened? They died in the spirit. They lived from that day forward by the light of their senses and reason. They chose to become their own god, they chose to obey their own desire, like most of the world does today.

Either God is your light or your own reason is your light.

What happens to mankind when he lives in the light of the tree of knowledge of good and evil?

Isaiah 5:20-23
20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! 21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink: 23 Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him! KJV

Social justice has become the new light of the world, it is the platform from which to call good evil and evil good. It is where a person who embraces and accepts immorality, is championed and the person who stands for moral righteousness according to God’s law is demonized.

Proverbs 17:15 He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just, Both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD. NKJV

Malachi 2:17 You have wearied the LORD with your words; Yet you say, “In what way have we wearied Him?” In that you say, “Everyone who does evil Is good in the sight of the LORD, And He delights in them,” Or, “Where is the God of justice?” NKJV

Sometimes I find myself thinking it has never been this bad before, but then I read the history of the scriptures and realize every generation must contend for the truth and fight for the true light to shine in our hearts. God’s silence from the heavens is not his acceptance but His mercy giving full time and space for repentance, for He truly desires to see all mankind saved.

Malachi 3:14-18
14 You have said, ‘It is useless to serve God; What profit is it that we have kept His ordinance, And that we have walked as mourners Before the LORD of hosts? 15 So now we call the proud blessed, For those who do wickedness are raised up; They even tempt God and go free.'”
16 Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, And the LORD listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the LORD And who meditate on His name. 17 “They shall be Mine,” says the LORD of hosts, “On the day that I make them My jewels. And I will spare them As a man spares his own son who serves him.” 18 Then you shall again discern Between the righteous and the wicked, Between one who serves God And one who does not serve Him. NKJV

Don’t be fooled by the leaders of this dark world, God will not be mocked – whatever a man sows that will he also reap. The Lord knows whose are His and will fully bring judgment upon the rebels who refuse His way and live in their own light. I am comforted by the promises of His word and 6000 years of human history has taught us that God always wins! Hallelujah!

Pastor’s Blog 1.16.19

Let me begin this week with a question? Do you believe you have reached your total potential?

I am guessing the answer is no.

I am guessing that like myself, you have a knowing inside that the Lord has more for you to do, more for you to see, others for you to touch, and others who have a touch for you. We need to live in a constant state of expectation, don’t we? That’s what faith is, right?

Hebrews 11:1-7 TPT

Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen. This testimony of faith is what previous generations were commended for. Faith empowers us to see that the universe was created and beautifully coordinated by the power of God’s words! He spoke and the invisible realm gave birth to all that is seen.

Faith moved Abel to choose a more acceptable sacrifice to offer God than his brother Cain, and God declared him righteous because of his offering of faith. By his faith, Abel still speaks instruction to us today, even though he is long dead.

Faith lifted Enoch from this life and he was taken up into heaven! He never had to experience death; he just disappeared from this world because God promoted him. For before he was translated to the heavenly realm his life had become a pleasure to God.

And without faith living within us it would be impossible to please God. For we come to God in faith knowing that he is real and that he rewards the faith of those who give all their passion and strength into seeking him.

Faith opened Noah’s heart to receive revelation and warnings from God about what was coming, even things that had never been seen. But he stepped out in reverent obedience to God and built an ark that would save him and his family. By his faith the world was condemned, but Noah received God’s gift of righteousness that comes by believing.

I wanted to use a different translation to stimulate our thinking about how we get to there from here. If something isn’t practical, then we are not profited by it are we? Many times you may wonder how do I make faith practical?

1. Faith brings our hopes into reality. Your car takes you to church doesn’t it? It is the vehicle necessary to bring you from one place to another. Likewise, your faith is the vehicle God uses to bring the manifestation from the invisible realm to the visible. So practically, we need to believe and begin to confess that we have what we long for.

2. Faith becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we hope for. If you are going to build a house, the first step before anything else happens is the foundation must be laid. The key to a strong foundation is it can’t be impacted or moved by weather. The key to strong faith is it can’t be moved by circumstances that seem contrary to it. I know how hard that can be. The hardest time to believe you are healed is when you’re sick right? The hardest time to believe you prosperous is when you don’t have enough to do what you need to do right?

3. Faith becomes the evidence required- think about that a moment… We need a way to believe what we cannot see, and faith is that way. I have no problem exercising my faith for salvation (daily) against the fear of death, the grave and hell. I am able to cope with death because I believe Jesus has saved me. What evidence do I have of that right now? Faith in the promise. So,in the same manner, we need to stand on the evidence of faith to deal with all our adversities in life. We give God something to work with when we believe, but there is usually a time lapse between believing and seeing! (Isn’t there??)

4. Faith empowers us to see the unseen. Faith is a real power, I live in it every day and in some areas of life I have a strong faith, and in other areas it seems circumstances have a louder voice. This is where I have to grow and develop.

Let’s continue to press into the promises and take hold of the promised blessings! Will anything be different tomorrow if we don’t do anything different from today?
